#FlyBuy - GW26

Not a great return from last week's pick, Carles Gil, as Aston Villa found themselves on the end of a 2-0 defeat up at Hull. Still, they now have a new manager in place in the form of former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood. In the short term, his motivational skills should see Villa pick up some decent points given the relative ease of their upcoming fixtures. I expect to see Gil pick up his fair share of fantasy points in the remaining 4 gameweeks in which he is active as a FlyBuy pick. Looking further ahead, I predict that Sherwood will not be the saviour Villa fans so desperately want. Call it a hunch but I think this particular marriage will end in an acrimonious divorce sooner rather than later.

With one eye on the blank gameweek following this weekend's fixtures for Chelsea, Leicester, Tottenham and QPR I have decided to disregard those teams from this week's FlyBuy pick. Although Spurs and QPR have the double gameweek the following week, at the time of writing it still hasn't been confirmed whether Chelsea and Leicester will also play twice in gameweek 28.

Instead, this week I am going to tip a player who has recently arrived in the Premier League. In fact, he was the player instrumental in the defeat of Villa last time out. It may just have been beginners luck, but the instant understanding between him and his strike partner, Nikica Jelevic, led to them both scoring. If they can keep this up, Steve Bruce may have found this season's Christophe Dugarry (remember him? He rescued a Birmingham City side headed for certain relegation back in 2003).

Hull City are currently hovering just above the bottom three, only one point clear of 18th placed Villa. In Dame N'Doye, they potentially have the player who can score the goals to pull them clear of the trapdoor. Having signed from Locomotiv Moscow in the January window, the Senegalese international certainly has the ability to grab goals in the top flight, even for a team as weak creatively as Hull are.

Hull are not going to find it easy to put point on the board, but their next five read: QPR (H) / STO (A) / SUN (H) / LEI (A) / CHE (H)

With 3 of those 5 fixtures coming against relegation rivals, if they can pick up 9 points by winning against QPR, SUN and LEI, they should start to pull clear. For what it's worth, when Christophe Dugarry joined Birmingham all those years ago, his goals eventually saw them finish 13th in the table. That is my prediction for Hull this year. But it is dependant on goals from this week's FlyBuy pick, Dame N'Doye.
