@FPLMad continues his
series of 'Zero Hero' picks which focus on super low-owned players. They could
be uber-differentials (at 0.9% or less), thus require more scrutiny and
evaluation over a three Gameweek window. Over the years, he has provided an
assortment of successful differentials on a weekly basis through his own set
of parameters and is relishing this new challenge. Here's his Zero Hero pick
for Gameweek 10:
Before getting into this week’s pick, since I didn’t have an
article last week for personal reasons, let’s take a look at how GW8’s and GW9’s
Zero Heroes did over the three Gameweek window that they were given. It was a
mixed bag with Maupay and Tierney. First, Maupay scored 2 goals in his 3
matches which would qualify the pick as a success. Second is Tierney, who was a
total failure with 2 blanks in 2 appearances. All of that adds up to 3 out of 5
successful picks which is pretty respectable I think.
Focusing on the next 3 gameweeks, there’s
been a differential on my mind for a couple of weeks actually; he was so close
to being picked the last two gameweeks but I think this week is the perfect
timing given his next three fixtures. This week’s Zero Hero has been going
about his business without a lot of traction from FPL managers; he’s still only
owned by 0.6%. However, he already has a goal and 4 assists to his name. He’s
Dwight McNeil from Burnley. The young English winger was a breakout star last
season for Burnley and has well established himself as a nailed-on starter this
season; he’s yet to miss the starting XI and has been arguably one of the best
players for Sean Dyche’s side.
One thing not going in his favor, in
the eyes of FPL managers, is his price. At 6.0 million, people have other more
popular options like McGinn and Cantwell. However, when you look at overall
points this season, he sits 4th for midfielders priced at 6.0
million or under. Other than the good form, he has fixtures on his side as
well. In the next 3, Burnley plays West Ham and Crystal Palace at home and
Watford away. The fact that a 6.0 midfielder from Burnley is putting a lot of
people off, which makes him an even greater differential right now; he’s your
Zero Hero for Gameweek 12.
I would love to hear your thoughts and
reactions about this week’s pick!
