Safe Pick – Harry Kane
After withdrawing from England duty with a minor knee problem, Kane is fit and well rested, ready for Gameweek 12.
This week he takes on rivals Arsenal in the North London derby, who despite sitting 6th in the Premier League table have conceded 16 goals this season.
With Kane’s stunning record of 6 goals in 5 games vs The Gunners, last year’s Golden Boot winner was the first name in my Starting 11 line-up and I’m sure he will be for you too!
Differential Pick – Oumar Niasse
After putting his reported poor treatment from previous manager Ronald Koeman behind him, Niasse has 4 goals this season since his introduction in Gameweek 6.
This week, Everton are away to Crystal Palace and will aim to build momentum after the 3-2 victory over Watford in Gameweek 11.
After starting and scoring in that victory at Goodison Park, Niasse will be eager to take on a defence that has conceded 22 goals.
Midfielders
Safe Pick – Eden Hazard
Belgium's captain started the season late, but Hazard is starting to build up some momentum and the signs are that a points haul is on the horizon.
Chelsea travel to the Hawthorns on Saturday to take on a West Brom side who are in an appalling run of form, having not won a game since August.
After impressive displays in the Champions League, the signs are there that a big performance is coming in the Premier League and I expect Hazard to link up well with Alaro Morata this weekend.
Differential Pick – Wilfried Zaha
Is the Ivory Coast International the shining light in what has been an appalling season for far for Crystal Palace?
As only 1 team, West Ham, have conceded more than both Palace and Everton, I expect goals from both teams this weekend.
Since returning from injury, the winger has scored 2 goals in his last 4 games and will provide his sides attacking threat
Roy Hodgson will be relying on Zaha again this weekend, who has scored 2 goals the 4 games he has played in since his return from injury.
Defenders
Safe Pick – Marcus Alonso
Chelsea’s opponents on Saturday are West Brom, who have only scored 10 goals this season. After keeping clean sheets in their last 2 games I expect that run to extend to 3 on Saturday.
Despite getting off to a flying start with 2 goals in Gameweek 2, Marcus Alonso hasn’t lived up to the high standards he set during 2016/17.
With more attempts on goal (17) than any other defender this season, could we see the return of ‘Goalonso’ this weekend?
Differential Pick – Leighton Baines
A fantasy football legend who in recent years has been locked away in his own half of the pitch and forgotten about.
Under David Unsworth this seems to have changed, Everton are leaking goals but heat maps show us that Baines in finding himself in advanced positions once again.
A goal and an assist vs Watford in Gameweek 11 reminded me of the attacking threat he once was, he could be an attacking threat again this weekend to that weak Crystal Palace defence.
Goalkeepers
Safe Pick – David de Gea
8 clean sheets in 11 games for the De Gea is reason enough for the Spanish International to be this week’s Safe Pick.
Old Trafford hosts the evening kick off on Saturday vs Newscastle who have only scored 10 goals this season with striker Joselu misfiring.
With the 2nd highest save percentage in the Premier League with 86.5%, when he is eventually called upon, Dave saves.
Differential Pick – Nick Pope
The Burnley stack has served me well this season whilst playing Starting 11 and I don’t see why Gameweek 12 should be any different.
I expect Gameweek 12 to be a high scoring one, however Burnley’s home tie vs Swansea City has 0-0 written all over it.
Nick Pope has played a key part in the solid defensive unit set up by Sean Dyche.
Who is the one goalkeeper with a better save percentage record than De Gea?
The answer…..Nick Pope.
My captain pick this week is an easy one, Harry Kane.
That goal scoring record vs Arsenal cannot be ignored. Harry has had 2 weeks to rest and will be on the scoresheet this weekend.
He doesn’t even have the Wembley factor to contend with.
