MLN League - Week 1
This week saw the first week of Chief's My Little Nuts league. MLN is a draft style fantasy game with a twist on the regular scoring system (more on that later).
Chief is hosting a 10 team league with a mixture of regular players and some well-known fantasy bloggers.
So let's take a look at how the first week went:
As you can see above MLN differs from FPL in that all gameweeks are head to head within a mini league. You win or lose games based on a mixture of real life goals and virtual goals.
The biggest win of the week came from FFPundit's who handed Carunaway a 7-0 bashing. Let's take a closer look at that game:
A couple of braces from Jesus and Abraham were responsible for the majority of FFP's goals. Abraham is really one to watch, he has 4 goals in his last 6 games. Outside of that, the green goals pictured are virtual MLN goals. To put it simply, these are scored by having a player who scored a higher rating that your opponent's players (based on Opta stats). Dier picked up a MLN goal in this one. It is worth noting a high performing defensive mid can be a good asset in MLN.
Now lets take a look at Chief's game:
It was 1-1 draw for Chief in his first game. One interesting thing about this one is Chief picked up the draw through the use of the MLN bonus: the WTF suitcase. The WTF followscase cancels out one goal. It's probably the most instantly effective bonus in the game. Chief even picked up one of the game's badges for it's use:
